Town of Hillsborough
Hillsborough Beautification Foundation
In 1998, the Hillsborough Garden Club and thirty-three Founding Friends provided leadership gifts to establish the Hillsborough Beautification Foundation (HBF). Since its inception, HBF has received generous donations from hundreds of Hillsborough residents, neighbors and friends. HBF has utilized these donations to fund a myriad of projects and community events: the relandscaping and maintenance of traffic inlands, the full renovation of Vista Park, restoration of historic gates, the creation of Crossroads Park, new Town entrance and street signs, projects at the Town’s public schools, annual daffodil planting and Light Up the Town! each December. HBF’s twice yearly newsletter keeps residents abreast of beautification activities.

The Community Service League (CSL), founded in 1976 and staffed solely by volunteers, is a significant private contributor to the Mental Health Association and the Youth and Family Enrichment Services, both of San Mateo County, California. These two agencies depend upon funding from the Community Service League to maintain the quality of their services. Since 1976, the Community Service League has donated over $1,100,000 to these two worthwhile agencies. The Mental Health Association provides food and shelter for the homeless and mentally ill, as well as free lunches and social opportunties for mentally handicapped residents of our county. The Youth and Family Enrichment Services provides a 24-hour suicide prevention hotline, affordable counseling, family stress services, and youth suicide identification and prevention services in our schools. 100% of our proceeds benefit the Mental Health Association of San Mateo and YFES Suicide Prevention of San Mateo County. |
