Float Information
The Parade of the Century - Monday, May 31, 2010, Memorial Day, Hillsborough's Centennial Celebration, 10:00 to 1:00.
It is time for the Parade of the Century! The route starts at Town Hall at 10:00am, follows Floribunda Avenue, turns left on Eucalyptus and ends at North Hillsborough Elementary School. The route will be closed to traffic during the parade. Look for the Wells Fargo Stagecoach, San Mateo County Mounted Guard,
Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Old Police Cars, Vintage cars carrying elected officials and past and present Mayors, the See's candy truck, Hillsborough's own
marching band, high school and college kid groups, SMHS Marching Band and so much more!
Schedule of Events
- 9:00 Floats line up at Town Hall, block party begins
- 9:30 Stiltwalker and Juggler/Unicyclist arrives
- 10:00 Parade of the Century begins
- 10:30 General Store opens
- Hotdogs, Popcorn, Lemonade and Chocolate Chip Cookies (Everything is a dollar.)
- Commemorative blankets, maps and ornaments for sale.
- Historical Society

Entertainment will start at 10:45, events may overlap:
- Four the Fun of It (Barbershop Quartet)
- Polo Demonstration on Upper Field; Hillsborough Red vs. Hillsborough Blue; Sparkling Divot Stomp between chukkers
- James Fleres Band
Some final details:
- There are 80 plus floats/groups marching in the parade. If you want to march, come to the check-in table at the Floribunda entrance to Town Hall, and you will be put in a group.
- Make your parking plan. Parking is available on the Crocker blacktop and all of the side streets. Be sure to come out early
- There will be continuous Shuttle Service after the parade. Stops are at Crocker, the bottom of the North driveway, Floribunda & Eucalyptus,
Floribunda & Sharon and at Town Hall.
- Remember to bring completed treasure maps to get your very small prize at Town Hall.
- Remember dogs are not allowed on the school fields.
- Be sure to wear flat shoes to participate in the Sparkling Divot Stomp! All are welcome.
- Use the General Store for your meeting place. All lost and found will be there as well.
